At the darkest turning of the year, when nature dissolves into stillness and the water element rises, this ritual becomes a safe threshold for meeting the oldest human fear:

the fear that we are alone, unsupported, separate from the Mother, and responsible for generating our existence from our own vigilance.

This fear is not personal.
It is developmental, cultural, ancestral, and planetary.
It is the root of hyper-independence, spiritual perfectionism, self-sufficiency as survival strategy, and the puritanical belief that goodness must be earned.

Ontological work dissolves what was never you.

Identity work requires maintenance.

Ontology creates permanence.

there is nothing left to maintain.
